Hello. I am changing my bike to a naked and I bought a universal RPM gauge and tachometer. I haven't changed the tacho yet but I have a lot of trouble with the RPM gauge.

This is supposedly the diagram of the exact type of RPM counter I have.

This is my picture of the thing. Same wiring, right? Assuming the diagram is correct...

And you might have guessed, this is the back wiring of a XJ600S counter. I browsed this forum and I found that the wiring for the RPM counter data is the center left three wires. One is mass, one is power, and the other is data. I know the two long-looking wires on the RPM counter I bought are only for illumination, so logically, there's three wires I need to correct to three wires on my bike... But I connected them all possible ways and I never managed to get the thing moving. Please help. If I wasn't clear enough feel free to ask for clarification. I'm desperate to get this thing working lol.
