Truck Payload Capacity

Is it still Off Topic if I am hauling motorcycles?
I have a Nissan Frontier extended cab pickup, it is a manual 5 spd with a 4 banger. The door sticker says my payload capacity is 827 lbs.
Planning on a camping/motorcycle riding trip down to Deals Gap NC and taking the little bikes down there. I estimate total payload (including us) to be around 1000-1100 lbs.
Some other models of these trucks have a payload that is 400-600 lbs higher. Same springs, same frame... but V6 motors and auto trans.
I don't have a trailer to use.
What do you guys think, would you be worried about exceeding payload by 250 lbs? There must be some factor of safety built in but I have no idea what it would be.
