Another newbie just saying hi

Hello all,
I purchased an XJ pre-division 1990 in hopes to turn into cafe. Heard good things about these bikes; they're reliable, cheap parts (yet to see this), easy to work on and for this they make good starter bike. It's in great condition with only 6000 miles on the clock, not a spot of rust. Not actually been into bikes that long, passed test recently and now have a sudden urge to get the bike running. Worked on many vehicles from the bottom to the top. However, never worked on a 4 stroke carburettor before... Or a 600cc motorbike for that matter! So after hours of searching for solutions to my ever growing list of issues, I though it only wise to sign up and say hi.
I expect I will be back on soon to hassle some you wise lot into helping me with that list I mentioned
