High-max revs quicker than low-mid

So i have a question about xj600 revs.. is this some kind of characteristic on this specific bike or is this normal with all inline 4 engines?
When i go full throttle, the bike revs to about 4/5 of the rpm range consistently and then last 1/5 increases immensly fast until restrictor comes in. Its about 2k revs from restricor.
Any thoughts?
