Mixed signals

Hey guys,
I've searched all over the forum and I couldn't find anything I missed. So,
I'm wiring new turn signals as when I got the bike it didn't have any. Now from the flasher comes a dark green positive for the right signal and a dark brown for the left positive. These signals didn't come with a park light feature but the wiring for that is a blue wire with a red tracer. So all these wired up and basically the same in the back, the Clymer manual says the grounds in the front tie in with the ground for the headlight. I did all this and it all worked, except I had speed blinker because it's all LED.
So I thought it was all good, was going to wire in an led resistor later but now whenever I turn on a signal all the signals flash at the regular speed, so I hit left and both left and right flash. I'm assuming regular speed because of the heavier load on the circuit. I can hear the flasher going like normal, but could it be a bad flasher? Or maybe too much load on the ground, the previous owners wired in a different speedometer and the all looks very terrible and it's mostly all grounded on that wire, but that doesn't make sense? I went with the dark brown positive, there a thicker lighter brown wire there.
Even the main fuse is in a different block, they really messed with everything. But then again, why would it work except the speed blinker and then all go bad?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
