bike starter

Hello
I dont know if anyone had this problem...but i was waiting on a red light and i let my bike stopped, when i tried to start the bike the starter didn't work and i had to push the bike to the sidewalk, then i tried again and it started alright has if nothing happened. Does anyone knows what may be??
