Front from fzr600

Hi i plan to buy front from fzr600 and in http://www.xjrider.com/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=1645 i found "buy list" but have questions:
1. I have 38 mm triple tree so its better to buy triple tree from xj600 1998+ (41mm) or buy it from fzr 600 (i ask coz can buy much cheeper complete front end from fzr)
2. in topic Radare say that 1989 fzr front end is odd.. chow to check with one id from 1989 and wit one is from 1990+ on shops with useing parts they dont know how to check it.
