3HE Forks Question?

So back in October i bought a set of FZR 600 3HE Forks.
This week i Sandblasted and painted the lower legs a nice fresh gloss black, went to put the forks back together with new seals and the 38mm FZR seals don't fit.
I've checked the old seals and they say 41mm on them, the 3HE definitely had 38mm forks didn't it?
Strangely the 3HE wheel and spindle fits the forks just fine.
I cant find anything about any FZR 600's having 41mm forks only the 1000, so looks like i been screwed, suppose i'll have to buy a 1000 triple and hope that bolts straight onto the frame or see if the XJ fork tops fit in these bottoms but i doubt it.
