Fork Extensions

So I am looking for fork extensions instead of doing the drop triple using the lower triple so that I can simplify this a bit. There are 2 versions that I have found out there, and I'd like y'all thoughts on which is better.
The first was posted on my project thread, is available for the R1 forks (50mm), but is pretty expensive:

The second I can't find for the R1 forks I have, but I've e-mailed a couple companies to see if they can make custom ones for me. They are a thread-on replacement for the fork cap:

http://www.billskimods.com/VStar_Fork_Extensions.htm
So my question is regarding if these will affect the stiffness of the forks.
It seems to me that the upper triple does take a twisting torque on the fork tubes, which means the first type will cause some flexing, and wont feel good, as it doesn't appear to actually clamp onto the fork tube.
For the second type, torque on the fork tubes could cause the extender to "unscrew" a little bit.
Is my thinking correct here, or does the fork tube not torque at all?
I have also thought about modifying the first type so that is somehow clamps onto the fork tube, like maybe cutting vertical slits and wrapping a clamp around it.
What do you guys think?
