new bike bit of a naked wiring issue

Hi folks this is my first post so i suppose i should say Hi,
I have recently purchased a 1994 diversion from my neighbour and i has a few minor wiring problems regarding a naked conversion.
the loom on the bike has had its black 6 pin plug removed and left the crimps in place.
This is the plugs from the back of the speedo unit which he has put into the FZ600 dials. which is the standard loom he just moved the bulbs over etc...
This is the plug end of the headlight/indicator loom which also removed the black 6 pin plug from.
Now do these just go together colour for colour if so why are the crimps all male ends rather than male and female as the two black plugs obviously wont go together being female ends, also there 6 wires on the headlight loom and only 5 on the engine harness loom with black being th odd on out. Am i missing another loom in between these?
The dials in question
Are these Orange Black and Brown wires needed on the back of the speedo dial?
Any help you may be able to give would be great.
