What is this?

I started the process of my naked conversion, pulled the fairing and the light/gauge cluster subframe. When I stood the bike up, this hit the floor:
It was very dirty and greasy. I looked over the schematics for the fairing and subframe but didn't see it listed.
Any thoughts as to where it came from?
