Sticking clutch plates?

Hi folks I have a wee problem, a few months ago my clutch release bearing crushed itself. When I got it recovered home and took off the clutch cover it had a kind of thick milk/yogurt creamy type of sludge in the clutch housing but not in the engine compartment. So after draining all the oil and checking for any metal flakes I flushed the engine twice with new oil and oil filters. So the problem now is, if I lay the bike up for a few days I would normally have to engage first gear with the clutch pulled in and gently rock it back and forth to get the plates to unstick. Do any of you know what it could be or what the problem is? Most of the garages near to me are total rip offs and don't mind robbing you for all your hard earned money without using a mask  any help, hints or tips would be gratefully acknowledged. It's a 2001 XJ600N

Cheers Paul
