headlight adjustment

Sorry if this is already in the forum but I couldn't find anything about the topic.
My headlight seems to be angled a bit downward and a lot to the right (sitting on the bike.)
I looked and found the adjustment know on the left side and it appears to adjust the up down angle. The long screw/bolt on the other side does not appear to be changing side to side angle though. It is difficult to turn and I'm sure it should be. The left beam edge hit the center line of a 2 lane road and the right if way over in the ditch.
My question is, which way do I turn the screw to adjust the beam to the left?
