Odd Shim replacement

Hi all,
Ive come to the point of having to do the valve clearances on the XJ.
Everything seemed to be going ok until I started using the chart provided in the Haynes manual.
I measured 0.18mm on the exhaust side with an installed shim of 265. the spec clearance should be between 0.21mm - 0.25mm
So I looked at the chart in the manual, and it states that I would actually need to put a 265 back in.....???

Am I looking at this wrong or is this a mistake?
I ended up using the calculator provided on this site and it states I need a 258 (rounded up to 260).
Sorry if I'm being a div, first time doing this!
Kind Regards
Pete.
