Hi everyone,

I bought a '92 XJ600S (is that a Seca II? Or Diversion? I have no clue. :/ ) last October and finally got around to ride it some this year. I am a new rider after having had a car for nine years. That was when I lived in Germany, but since parking in San Francisco is such a nightmare, I thought a motorcycle would be handier. Also, California has great weather all year round (damn that drought though!), and I was always intrigued to start riding. After taking MSF's Basic Rider Course (Motorcycle Safety Foundation for those not in the US) I never got around to actually look for nice bikes, since I didn't want something new (too expensive, and the likelihood of me ruining it early was also real), and not something that was so cheap that I had to expect that it would kill me instantly.

Long story short, someone at work sold this bike for $1500, and without knowing much about it, I just went with it to finally get started with riding:

It needed new tires (Note: "Lots of tread left" does not say anything about the tires' age  ), a new speedometer and clutch cable, but overall, it seems to be in good shape. It rides really well and I already had some absolutely fantastic trips through the area here. :)

There are a couple of things I want to improve or fix on the bike, and I hope to be able to do some of this myself. So be prepared for a bunch of questions from my side. ;)
I've snooped around in the forum a bit and it seems to be a nice place.

If anyone is from the area here too, hit me up for a ride!

Cheers
