Tail/seat mods - what would be involved to get it like this?

Hello there,

i've just come across some nice shots of a cafe'd XJ. It looks sort of weird to my eye, but also sort of amazing.

In my eternal quest to reform the back end of my XJ, I'm collecting possible outcomes. I've pinched one directly from our forums (that amazing black XJ with the chopped tail and part-tank-potential-cowl-fairing).

This looks to have involved some similar downsizing. I'm interested in what you guys think would be involved to get a finish like this.

I'm asking because I'm a n00b.. All I can guess is;

*cut off part of the tail frame, throw it on floor
*cut the tail frame supports and re-weld them at a different angle (so they're steeper)
*somehow mod the seat so it takes on that shape at the back, and create some sort of metal fill-y, angle bit.(would this involve mod'ing the seat pan?)
*do magical things to mount indicatores and stuff

:D
