Exhaust headers install question

I am ready to install the exhaust pipes on my 92 seca. I have had it on a motorcycle jack while completing the project and have yet to put the side stand back on. I was attempting to put the exhaust pipes on, but noticed I can't install them while the bike is on the lift. Does anyone have any insight on how to best install them? So I need the side stand installed first and take it off the lift? Any help is appreciated.
