Rear suspension preload

My 1992 seca only has 6000 miles on it as of today. I set it on the highest preload for the rear as I had read that these bikes sag badly but what I have found is that with mine all the way up my rear suspension feels stiff and bouncy and not nice and compliant, almost moves too much too fast but not in a way that I call sluggish or soggy. I am 5 8 and weigh 165. Just wandering if anyone knows what the preload settings are. I knocked mine down 2 and well see how that does.
Anybody know what the actuall weight for the settings are?
