Need help with fairing modification

I posted this on the regular XJ600 thread, but I wanted to get some advice as it is a modification. I am trying to modify the stock fairing to include vents like this http://cdntbs.astonmartin.com/sitefinit ... g?sfvrsn=0. I cut the hole for the vent fine, but I need to create some depth as the fairing is only about 1/4" thick and I need to have it angled as seen in the photo. I tried working with foam as a mold for fiberglass, but I could not get it smooth enough. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
