97 Diversion

Just bought a 97 Diversion with 37k miles for £670 
bike runs and pulls great, couple of problems, oil leak from breather pipe, dodgy battery.. Once I sort these two problems is there anything else worth doing? This is my first big bike, is this high mileage for these bikes? I think they're great looking bikes and would like to tidy it up a bit but don't want to do anything major incase the bike is already coming to the end of its life!
