fuel tank rusted out by petcock...fix???

Guys, I'm a bit frustrated. I'm down to a few last pieces to paint, the frame being welded and assembly. I finally got the petcock off and got the filler hole opened...only to find there is an area by the petcock that had paint bubbled! I pressed on it and the screwdriver went through the metal/rust. I'll get pics up in a bit but can it be jb welded? It's 3 separate holes, the largest is about an inch long and 1/4" wide, the others are maybe 3/8" in diameter. Please tell me it can be fixed on the cheap!
