Oil in carbs?

Hello everyone.
Well I have up on getting my bike to run like a dream. So I took it to the garage down the road from me. Thing is now she runs but the bike machanic so confused why the is oil in the carbs going in at four and out at one. I did tell him that it should go to the petcock vacum nipple from cylinder 1 and cylinder 4 from the oil pump. Can any one please tell me I am correct or wrong.
