Speedo/lights wiring help

Hi All!
Finally got back to being able to get the replacement speedo onto the XJ but having some trouble I was hoping some of you may be able to help with?
I see a few people have wired an old bandit speedo to the XJ to use when turning naked, I've gotten one myself but having trouble getting it working without blowing a fuse with the headlight or blinking too fast.
I'm thinking I need to get a load resistor for the blinkers as the original speedo had one light for the indicators where as the bandit has a dedicated left and right one which I have hooked directly with the lamps to work.
Has anyone got any wiring diagrams or photos from a Bandit -> XJ conversion. If not I will try and upload some pictures although it's getting pretty messy! Lol
