Need some advice - Front End Conversion?

After a year of rebuilding my xjs engine after the previous owner blew the pistons and starting motor, i finally have it up and running. The front fairing is broken so i will be going naked. i have been doing countless searches on this and have just a few questions. i will be buying a trailtech vapor and need to know if they are as hard to set up accurately as ive been hearing? and i want to put on clip on handlebars. how will the clip ons affect my handling?
