quicker but slower

Since the vast majority of my riding is round town, and I'm not really interested in going very fast (over 100) and I'm not too bothered about miles per gallon but I wanted a bit more acceleration, especially two-up, I've fitted a fifteen tooth gearbox sprocket!
Another reason was that the vibes kicked in at just about 50mph and we have a lot of roads with just that limit. While I could change down to 5th, the vibes feel a lot less now and are at about 46mph so not at a general speed limit.
It's only been on a day and, currently, gone round the block to check everything's bolted together OK, but low speed control seems much nicer.
I wondered if anyone else had tried this and what they made of it.
I was a bit shocked when I had to undo the sprocket nut (30mm and supposedly 80 ft/lb torque) it was only finger tight. Have done it up as per the manual!)
