Cam Lobe Positions While Timing

I have followed the factory installation instructions (and double-checked with the guides here) and now have set my timing with the cams relative to the crank. Both the exhaust and intake cams' marks line up with the small holes in the camshaft caps when the No. 1 piston is at TDC, but it appears that the cam lobes are not exactly 180 degrees apart from each other.

Aren't the cam lobes supposed to be 180 degrees away from each other when timed to TDC? I didn't notice that the lobes were or weren't exactly 180 degrees apart the last five or six times that I've pulled my cams and re-timed the engine (don't ask).

Has anybody measured or know if the 180 degrees is supposed to be exact?

Also, it appears as if the camshaft sprockets are clocked just a little differently - has anybody noticed this on their own rebuild?
