Throttle Cables - Kicking My butt

Installing throttle cables is always a huge PITA for me. It's like I have a mental block or something. This bike is no different. I wrestled with them for an hour last night. I finally got it to work by attaching the bracket and installing the upper (return) cable first. Then I unscrewed the bracket and flipped the carb bank to hook up the lower cable. Then I screwed the bracket back in and all was well. There is undoubtedly a simpler way to do it, but I can never figure it out.
