How Do I Lift the Back End?

Hi Guys,
I just got a 93 Seca II. I need to change the rear tire, chain, and sprockets. No centerstand on the bike. How do I get the rear wheel off the ground? I have a Pitbull rear stand, but the rear end is too skinny for it. My plan right now is to slide a piece of re-bar under the swingarm in the slots just behind the footpegs. Then jack the bike up and set the re-bar on jackstands. I'm wide open to other ideas.
