Help xj600 not starting

Hello, fellas
I just started riding and bought a 93 xj600 Not running....
i got it cheap...
first thing i did took the carbs off and cleaned them and re installed them.
bike still does not start
I got the bike running when i blew into this pipe in between the carbs there are two, one between 1 and 2 then 3 and 4
blew into those the bike started right up...
took it for a test drive no much power or pick. i think its a fuel issue
i let it sat 5 hrs bike doesnt start again, i put my hand to cover the airbox intake and i can feel it sucking and then it started again.
What do you think the issue can be? seems like it needs pressure to start i check all the lines and the vacuum lines on 1 and 2 they are fine...
any suggestions?
