Youth Helmets/Riding with Kids

Just curious if any of you have kids that ride with you? My daughter is 7 and loves to ride around the neighborhood, but is dying to go for a real ride. Not sure how I feel about this yet. We looked a helmets for her yesterday; specifically the Gmax GM49Y pictured below. Anyone have any experience with these helmets? I'd love some feedback and some experience from other parents who ride with kids! Gracias!
