longest lasting rear tire?

I just burned through a kenda cruiser rear tire in 3000 miles! I looked at the rear tire today and it was down to the cords!

I got lucky and just happened to have a spare 120/80-18 in the basement that I was able to use, but it didn't go on without a fight! I had to tear my old dirt bike apart to use its tube to get this tire to seat. though this tire doesn't have quite as much grip in the corners as the old tire, I can still ride with it. :brow:

now my question is what is a longer lasting tire that I can put on here to help slowdown the squaring of the rear tire? I would like to have a little grip, but I need something that is going to last more than 3000 miles.
