Carb bib aka heat protector install question?

So I ordered a new carb bib, mine never had one. Don't know if they are all that important but I figured it wouldn't hurt and I was ordering other things from Ron ayers anyhow. How is it suppose to be installed on the bike? I know on top of the carbs under the air box but does the flaps facing the front go on top of the rearward valve cover or do the flaps tuck into the space between the carbs and valve cover? I'm guessing the later but wanted to double check.
