Starter solenoid popped?

Right I moved my starter solenoid and the terminals on top hit the frame without there rubber caps on.
I heard a pop from nearer the starter solenoid than the fuse box and now the bike won't start off the button.
None if the fuses popped.
Do you recon I've popped the solenoid?
Why doesn't it pop when you put a screwdriver across it but does when it touches the frame?
Anyone in the UK got a spare they can do me a good deal on?
I gave my spare away to a member
