Tire Pressure Leak

Now that winter is over its time to get the bike out. I went to check the tire pressure to see how much I lost over the winter and the tire pressure meter read ZERO! How could this be? must be a leak somewhere. So I pumped it back up to required specs sprayed down the tire with soapy water and found a pin hole leak along the rim. I put new tires on it about 2,000 miles ago and rode with non know issues all summer. When I pumped it back up I noticed right at the leak those little nubby things that are on all new tires were caught in the rim during mounting. So I took all the air out and plucked about 5 of them out of the rim (all were intact and not broken off) and pumped it back up. Re-sprayed the leak area again and the leak was still there. In one week the tire loses about 10 PSI. So the question here to you all is. Do I bring the bike back to the tire place who mounted them? Or is it ok to put that tire foam seal (FIX-A-FLAT) in a bike tire. The rim does not seem to be bent at all.
