help with fuel line... again

ok, so when replacing my fuel lines last night (took four diagrams, two of them being chicken scratch on a paper and the other two from the manufacturer) i found that the carb input and the pump output are two different sizes. Both pieces are original but the carb input is significantly larger.

the only problem i am having is i want to use Tygon fuel line and the pump fits 1/4 inch but the carb input is too large.
