Installing an Oil Temp Sensor

The R1 cluster I'm using on PBT has provisions for a temp sensor and I've been thinking of using it to show oil temperature. Ideally, I'd like to mount the sensor in the sump. I can think of two places I might fit it: The oil drain plug hole or one of the oil galley plugs. Neither, of course, is ideal. Any ideas on a place to mount a temp sensor?
