Last night I finally tackled the job of shaving my rear turn signals. I did this mostly because my saddlebags would butt up against them and block the passenger foot pegs. The purpose of shaving them or moving them is to ride two up comfortably with the saddle bags on the bike. Sarah and I were planning on doing a trip this weekend so my timeframe was small. I ran to Autozone and picked up two LED marker lights.

I first tried them out to make sure they would blink. The rate is a little fast due to the fact that it is an LED light. I tried toning them down with an array of resisters but they only effected the light intensity not the blink rate. I didnt really have the time or the motivation to figure it out last night they blink and the are bright thats good enough for me lol....

So I removed the stock signals and with a brilliant stroke of luck I had black 1/2" hole plugs in stock at the house :grins:

I decided to put the lights right under the tail light. They seem to fit nice possibly a little hidden but easily visible from 15 feet back. I have a video Ill stick in this post later.

The bases of the lights just needed a little modification to fit perfectly. A small cut out to allow the wires to sit flush under the base:

Next was the connectors. These are easy and I had some in stock as well. The bullet style male connectors that are a crimp style with the long heat activated shrink shield. Here is a picture of them crimped and installed. (If anyone wants details on the connectors or how certain processes are preformed I can elaborate Im just trying to keep it short and to the point)

Here is a couple videos of the finished product (sorry the vids suck cell phone cam)
