Idea for custom clip-on style handlebar mount

After much thinking about mounting handlebars to a YZF600 upper triple and not liking the idea of drilling the triple, I've come up with the following idea:
Take a stock triple from a bike with 41mm forks, good risers and gauge mounts and cut out the center section (cut lines shown in yellow). Clean up the edges and remove any extra junk. Then mount each side of the cut triple, on top of the YZF triple, like a pair of clip ons. Finally, add a pair of handlebars using risers.
What do you all think of this idea?
