Stalling after replacing carb boots

Hey guys,
I replaced my dry rotted carb boots a few days ago and since then the bike dies on me. I can get it started and running only if I give it throttle (while starting and after it turns over). It runs rough and fuel will drip out of the overflows. When I release the throttle the RPM would drop below normal idle and eventually stall.
Im pretty sure im going to have to pull the carb off again and inspect and clean the jets but I wanted to run it past you guys and see if I should check anything else. I also plan on checking the float levels. I should of done it when I had the carbs off the first time but I was hoping it was going to be a quick fix...
