Battery Issues

So, today my brand-new (3 weeks old) battery just "died".
I had an appointment, rode the bike there. Came out 1.5 hours later, started the bike and rode it a short distance to a gas station. It was busy and I had to wait for 3 or 4 minutes to get to a pump...I didn't turn the key off and the engine wasn't running.
Got to the pump, shut off the key (to open the tank), filled up, turned the key on...nothing. The headlight was barely a glimmer and the starter wouldn't even whimper.
Tried to bump start it, but couldn't get enough momentum built up to give it a good try - some minor sputtering turnovers at best. Wore myself out after three attempts.
Cabbed it home.
I'm wondering if the "fog lights" that the previous owner installed are killing my batteries or if my generator isn't charging or something. I've actually been using the fog lights for the past few days whereas I previously left them off.
Any advice/recommendations appreciated.
