Trans continental carbs?

Has anyone put a european carb on their U.S. xj? I have some cracked brass plugs in my carb throats that don't appear to be replaceable and the only carbs I can find for sale are from europe. Some of the european carb bodies look the same some look different and some have some wires and/or hoses that our U.S. ones don't have
