XJ600 '84 choking on 3/4 throttle

Hi,
I am the proud owner of a Yamaha xj600 1984 pre div, which was not spared by fate - I am slowly restoring it to its former glory.
I have a problem with her, specifically the previous owner swaped airbox for pod filters. Now, when driving with about 3/4 of the throttle, the engine starts to choke/stutters, after going WOT the problem disappears.
The original jets are installed in the carburetor,
pilot jets # 40
the main jets are for cylinder 1 and 2 # 105 for cylinder 3 and 4 # 102.5.
Do you have any advice on what might be the problem - to rich, to lean?
