Voltage drop on headlight wires?

Hi,
I have found my headlight quite dim since I have bought a bike so - just two years later - I have finally decided to do something about it. I removed the bulb which seems ok but nonetheless I will replace it cause its probably pretty old (have not checked the datecode).
What I have found pretty odd is that it seems I have 1V drop between my battery and the light bulb connector. My battery is at 12.6V when nothing is on and at 11.8V when I turn the key to ON. At this point if I use a multimeter I only measure 10.8V on the bulb connector (bulb is disconnected of course).
Is this drop within the acceptable range, or too much? Looks pretty high to me.
