Carbs (need help badly)

Hello all,
These pics show what I found when I took the bowl covers off of 1 & 4. I'm pretty concerned that these may well be beyond saving. In one it looks like sand or very old and nasty silicate of some sort. In the other it clearly looks to be just majorly gelled fuel. Also if you look right next to the float pivot pins in both, you will see that in one there is a small brass nut, and in the other there is a small black allen head bolt where this brass nut should be. These carbs are in pretty rough shape. Any and all input on recovering them, or any input on where to source a decent set at a decent price would be awesome. I've scoured evilbay already. All I have found is either big money, over seas, or honestly looks worse then what I have..... I am still in the process of carefully removing MANY stripped out screws from all the remaining parts. Will post more pics when I have them all open.
