Average MPG

Just curious what kind of MPG you guys are getting with your XJ's. I'm getting around 35 MPG. I haven't done any tuning yet. Where is the best place to start with these bikes to improve mileage? The standard plugs, wire, air filter? Or, is it better to open up the carbs?
