10 cent rejet - Shim size

So I'm not sure if this has been answered before, but I can't find it anywhere, but can anone answer the following questions?
1. What size shims are needed? The standard guide says to use 0.020" shims, but doesn't state the size (ID and OD).
2. What exactly are these shims called and where can you get them? I can't seem to find them on the autozone website, so I am wondering if they are no longer a commonly carried item.
3. What total thickness of shims worked for you?
I would like to rejet soon and take pictures for a proper 10-cent reject FAQ page. Any inf would be helpful.
