Hello all !
As i told in the introduction post i have a little screw problem. I bought this XJ 600 S Diversion 2003' after i exchanged my XT 600! I was so amazed on the test ride that i havent noticed ( until after a few days after i bought it ) that oil pan was being modified..
well bike was slighty crashed before ( and renewed all things that got broken ). Until i saw a few drops of oil under it in one garage on the trip on the island Brac.. long story maybe for another topic... well anyway a few drops and i figured out it is from the screw where you drain the oil. But it looks like oil pan has been removed and you can see hermetics around it where is the connection with rest of the engine is and i think the original screw was broken ( and that like half moon cover around it is gone ) and new bigger thread was being made with a new screw. After around 5000 km i did some maintance and changed 15-50 motul oil from before ( slighly less then needed to put in i changed the filter and put motorex 10-30, new filter ofcourse and a new copper o-ring. After all it always leaves a drop of oil after i park it.. so im looking for a way to seal that screw somehow. This mechanic colleague told me to heat the copper o ring to maximum and then screw it on. he says that should seal it good but im not that confident about it. Maybe somone has a better idea PLEASE? Im missing around 2500 to 40.000 km and after ill take it to yamaha service to adjust the valves and carborauters as said in the manual ( and i think ill change that chain inside the head of the motor.. i forgot the name of it
going change..? ). Also it has added Akrapovic exhauts ( originally for aprilia pegaso 650 ), maybe i can make some more adjustment? Well beside that few drops im really happy with my new bike and it works really great !!
Thanks and cheers !
Ill put a few pics from the floor perspecetive on the oil pan screw tommorow!
