Hello everyone! I was recently gifted a Black 1996 Yamaha Seca ii from my Father-in-law, what a gift!! TBH, I have no prior experience with rebuilding motorcycles, but I did grew up riding dirt bikes, if that counts for anything lol.
Bike Situation - It has been sitting for 7 years in the garage in South Florida. Not exposed to any of the elements. Was told it ran great before being put up. Gas has been left in the tank for the past 7 years. I was also told the starter solenoid needs replaced. Cosmetically, looks great.
Where should I start?
I ordered a new battery to test all of the electronics.
I have taken all of the plastic off. (If anybody needs fairings (black in color), I will most likely be getting rid of them.) I like the "Naked" look. Really love Radare's PBT build.
I am thinking the gas tank is next? Take it off, clean it out (read through all of radare's tutorials on it). I am replacing the Fuel Petcock with the Yamaha Raptor 660. I plan on following that tutorial as well.
Any advice on what the next step should be?
P.S. So glad this site and community exists. I have learned so much just in this past couple of days alone. Thank you all!!
I will post photos soon, once I get the approval.
