Beautiful Friday here on the East coast, so why not ride the XJ to work?
Well, because there was about 4 tbsp. of oil sitting underneath her. Poor Baby!
Found a drop of oil under the Left hand side galley plug (directly below the crank).
Had to cut short my initial inspection because of work (stupid work).
I am hoping the leak is at the galley plug and a new crush washer will make all my problems go away.
I am fearful that it is the crankshaft seal on the same side and the oil had just migrated.
Praying that the XJ gods show me some mercy for the next 6 hours or so before I can inspect more closely. Oldman's writeup about replacing the seal from the outside sounds like a procedure I am not looking forward to.
