Can anyone advise about drilling into this back plate to install the factory rack. ABA-4DU51-00-00. It looks like 2 of the marked drilling points are really close to the edge of the plastic. I got the rack -which is nicely made and about as large as a 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper. Don't want to mess up the back plate for a rack which can only take 6lb.
The holes are to be 7/16" diam., almost as large as the dotted circles show. Then the red plastic tail piece
is popped back onto the bike and you put spacers and bolts through from above to mount
Two of the holes are to be used with grabrail mountings, two go into independently
located female threads located on the top of the metal fender under the plastic tail. Those last two
would not be easily relocated if one wanted to make their own rack.
